The Reserva Natural La Pedregoza is located some 67 KM by road from the Orinoco River port city of Puerto Carreño. Start your trip at the La Virgen traffic circle, go west for 25 KM, then south 35 Km on the Casuarito road to the end of the Nimajay fence, then turn right 7 km to the entrance to La Pedregoza.
You can get to Reserva Natural La Pedregoza by river. Go south from Puerto Carreño, until you come to the mouth of the Río Bita. Sailing time depends on the speed of your boat. Pass under Paso Ganado bridge and continue for about half an hour. La Pedregoza is on the south shore.
Vehicles in Vichada really suffer. Not only are the soils acidic, but road conditions can give the vehicle a considerable beating. One of the biggest costs when doing conservation work is transportation and vehicle maintenance. During the wet season vehicles often travel in 2 feet (50 cm) of water.
The Reserva Natural La Pedregoza is a protected area containing 4 distinct ecosystems, as well as a huge amount of biodiversity. The natural reserve is visible from the air when traveling with Satena, the regional airline. The northern border of the reserve is formed by the Río Bita.
There are regular return flights from Bogotá to Puerto Carreño 5 days a week with Satena. Foreign flights arrive at Eldorado International Airport in Bogotá. Passengers can take the flight to Vichada from Eldorado. We recommend 1 day between domestic and international flights.
Once you arrive at the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza, you can enjoy our all-inclusive comfortable room package, with food, drinks, tour guides and natural reserve access. If needed, we can pick you up from the airport. Experience a true off the beaten path adventure.
