OUR OBJECTIVES: CONSERVE, PRESERVE AND SAVE A UNIQUE ECO-SYSTEM

Cocomono Flower To administer, manage, operate, protect and preserve the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza located in the Departamento de Vichada.
To conserve native trees and plants located inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and elsewhere within the Orinoco basin.
To protect and preserve native animals located inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and elsewhere within the Orinoco basin.
To protect and preserve native and migratory birds located inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and elsewhere within the Orinoco basin.
To protect and preserve native reptiles and amphibians located inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and elsewhere within the Orinoco basin.
To protect and preserve native fish and aquatic animals located inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and elsewhere within the Orinoco basin.
To protect and preserve native insects located inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and elsewhere within the Orinoco basin.
To construct, manage and operate a turtle hatchery and protection program inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza, for native turtles living in the Rio el Bita and its tributaries in the Departamento de Vichada.
To construct, manage and operate a nursery for native tree species and plant those trees inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and elsewhere within the Orinoco basin.
To preserve and conserve the inundation forests, gallery forests and savannah typical of the llano oriental, both inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and elsewhere within the Orinoco basin.

Other Objectives

To construct, manage, operate and administer an interpretive center and visitors’ center to be located inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza, which provides educational, botanical, zoological, biological, geological, geographic and historical information to school children, tourists and the general public.
To provide eco-tourism services and guided tours to international and domestic tourists and visitors to the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and other locations within the Orinoco basin.
To provide support for scientists, researchers and students conducting studies related to the flora and fauna, culture, socio-economic development and people of the Orinoco basin, with special emphasis on forestry, agro forestry, afforestation, reforestation and carbon sequestration studies, and to enter into relationships with universities and other institutions for those purposes.
To administer, manage and operate volunteer programs dedicated to the study, conservation and preservation of the flora and fauna of the Orinoco basin.
To promote afforestation and reforestation programs in the Orinoco basin and elsewhere in Colombia and the world for the conservation and preservation of native tree species and the expansion of wildlife habitat.
To participate in local, national and international events, efforts, programs and studies concerning endangered species, climate change, the conservation and preservation of flora and fauna, socio-economic development, cultural heritage, aboriginal affairs and other activities of benefit to the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and the people of the Departamento of Vichada.
To produce publications, films and media, either independently or in collaboration with others, promoting local studies, afforestation and reforestation, or the preservation and conservation of the flora and fauna inside the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and the Orinoco basin.
To honour the founders of the Fundación La Pedregoza Foundation, Dexter B. Dombro, Dr. Kochurani Dombro and Dilmun D. Dombro and their efforts to conserve and preserve the flora and fauna of the Reserva Natural La Pedregoza and of the Orinoco basin.
To discover, research, implement, promote and support environmentally and ecologically sustainable solutions for local development inside the Orinoco basin.
To promote and support environmentally and ecologically sustainable eco-tourism to the Departamento de Vichada and the Orinoco basin.
